There and Back again

Wow it's been a month almost - and it has been a crazy busy and hectic month.
In the period of 2 weeks I left one job, moved back home, flew to Regina and had an interview there, started a new job and ran a gala dinner; not necessarily in that order.
I miss the people out in Uclulet a little - and I definitely miss how often I went to the ocean. Since getting back here I haven't even had time to unpack - let alone go out and do anything. Such is life I guess..
In Regina I went and saw Born into brothels... That is the very first time that I have cried during a movie in the theatre. It was amazing - I definitely recommend people go and see it!! Rob and I also got a good feel for the city as well: Strip Mall North, Strip Mall East, Strip Mall South (just past the U of R and where we were staying) and to the West is the Airport, and Depo.
The Gala went great - it made money (which is always a plus) and everyone had a fabulous time! Our guest speaker was out of this world - Dr. Dave Hepburn is one of those people who even while he has you doubled over with laughter you think.
Finally I really like my new job - it is strange to have more than one manager (and all of them make time for you), it is great to have a maintenance guy (so when stuff breaks it gets fixed), but the best part is when you have an idea - not only do people listen - but they give you a chance to implement it!! And I am so stoked - I begged for anti-fatigue mats (or else my knees wouldn't survive) and we got them - Darren, our project manager rocks!!! Something I don't understand though is why people are will to spend so much money on a hotel. Don't get me wrong it is an amazing hotel but 900$ for a single night seems a little steep to me.. Not to mention another 250$ to get wrapped in mud at the spa (I could do it for $5 - just hand me a shovel and a hose). I get that it is a treat and nice but couldn't that money be better spent? Mind you if those people weren't spending it I would be out of a job - so who am I to judge..
The last thing I have to say is: How is it that the people of B.C. are thinking about voting for Gordon Campbell - if he gets in again that means we are no better than the Americans for voting Bush in again. VOTE NDP!
Alright I gotta go unpack.....
