I'm Free
I'm so excited - I made it out and into the city. Today I shopped, wore jeans with heels and ate edamame. I love every minute of it - I have no idea how I wound up living in such a small town but I got to get out.I am a full time babysitter for a 30-year-old. My roomate did it again; in 24 hours she woke me up comming home at 2:15 in the morning when her dog went biserk because she was teasing it. She woke me up at 7:30 the same morning kicking the guy-de-jour out. While I was trying to eat breakfast she was telling my all about the "nasty sex" with the guy-de-jour. And then instead of thanking me when I found her bank card outside she got all defensive about when she lost it. I don't care when she lost it. Apparently I am not the only person who is pissed-off with her though - nearly everyone she knows is as well. Next weekend should be interesting her guy (the one with the kid and girlfriend) will be in town at the same time as her on-again-off-again boyfriend.
Heard the funniest guy being interviewed yesterday, he is a Muslim American and a stand-up comic. The news program showed a clip of one of his shows. It was great, something like this: "I am a Muslim American, meaning I am a devout Muslim but I am also an American, I would die for my country... by blowing myself up in a dunkin' donuts." It's kinda wrong to want to laugh, but he is a funny guy!!
Went and got food after work with Len the other night - we spent some good times "discussing" the problems of the workplace. Both of us are leaving and it is so good to have someone to vent with. It's not that there are any real problems, just a bunch of little ones that add up. The great news is both of us can laugh... and laugh... and laugh.
I know I have been in a small town too long, yes I realize it has been only 6 or so months (but, hey it has lasted longer than my being a vegetarian), because I regularly start sentances with "The other day on the food network" or "The guy from CBC said"...
I gotta go plan my escape!
