Well, they had excellent response time...
While calling out today I dialed 9 to get out, then 1 for the areacode.Then I stopped to check the number then I contiuned diailing 1 -306 ...
But then it started ringing - figuring I dialed an internal number I hung up and tried again.
Made my call, completed it, and got back to work.
About 5 minuteslater there are 4 (yes 4) blue-clad, very good looking policemen at mydoor.
"Have you been in your office all day?" the one asked.
"Yes," I replied concerned.
"Is that the only phone?"
"No, there is one on the other desk."
"Has it been in use today?"
"Not as far as I know..."
"Well someone called 9-11 then hung up."
"I didn't call 9-11," I said suddenly realizing why the phone had rung before I completed dialing the number eariler.
So to make a long story short I accidentally called Saskatoon's finest then hung up.
I was so embarassed - until they told me about the call I had no idea what was going on.
After they left I noticed my voicemail light flashing. I check my voicemail and it is the 911 dispatch calling me back and asking me to return the call if everything was okay - if not there were police on the way.
Thank goodness it was near lunch and most people were out of theoffice - those who were here will be laughing at me for a long time.
