Missing Mountains and Wildlife Photography
I never realized how much I missed the mountains, when living on the prairies, until I got the change to go hiking in them. It's crazy drive for 1 hour out of Calgary and you reach Banff National park. It's going from a city with thousands of people to being utterly alone except for mountain goats, squirrels, geese with their gosling, elk and bugs. When I went this weekend it was so hot, sunny and wonderful!
I was always so jealous of those people who had the beautiful wildlife pictures they took. Then I realized if you live in Banff and didn't have those photos something was wrong. We were nearly stepped on by the 3 big mountain goats as they crossed the trail... Mind you I missed that picture as I was scrambling to get out of the way.
