I don't even want to know why it was sticky

I was reading the Waiter Rant blog (http://waiterrant.blogspot.com/), which is screamingly funny, and I was thinking about my line of work. Guest Services/Front Desk/Reservations - still a slave to those who have too much money, however with less of a tip.
For example:
The other day I was working housekeeping with Erica and we had been tidying and cleaning up after these people for a better part of a week. Keep in mind to spend a week at the hotel costs a fair chunk of change and to use the spa and eat at the restaurant daily costs a whole lot more! Of course these people were absolute pigs - empty bottles, food crumbs, newspapers, crap everywhere and daily we would return everything to the way it looked when they first walked in.
After all of the money they had spent and all of the work we had done we were expecting a tip, nothing big but something... And we got something alright - a sticky shot glass filled with pennies, nickels and dimes. It amounted to a grand total of $0.38.
"These people make me sick," said Erica as she held the shot glass in her hand and surveyed the mess before us. "What do they think it is... a Super 8?"

It's that time again!

In less than a week we will have a new primer... at least I hope we will. On May 17th British Columbian's will take to the poles to have their voices heard. I expect a larger voter turn out this time seeing as the Liberals seemed to have pissed off at least one person from every group. Gordan Campbell has teacher, doctors, nurses, students, parents, lawyers and seniors mad at him (to name a few). If by some horrible chance he gets re-elected we can no longer comment on how stupid americans are for re-voting Bush as president.
I'm so damn excited not only do I get to vote but I am also volunteering for the NDP as a scruitener - it's hard to believe that at the last election I had no idea about politics!!
